Gillian Welch and David Rawlings have introduced their first new album in 4 years. It’s known as Woodland, and it’s set for launch on August 23 through the couple’s Acony Data. The follow-up to the 2020 covers LP All of the Good Instances was recorded at their very own Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville. Try the brand new music ‘Empty Trainload of Sky’ beneath.
“Woodland is on the coronary heart of all the pieces we do, and has been for the final twenty some years,” the folks duo shared in an announcement. “The previous 4 years had been spent nearly totally inside its partitions, bringing it again to life after the 2020 twister and making this file. The music is (songs are) a swirl of contradictions, vacancy, fullness, pleasure, grief, destruction, permanence. Now.”
